Hal and Heather
When Hal and I met and fell in love back in 1996 we were inspired to plant thousands of raspberries on our small plot of land and Goebel Hill Farm was born! We grew the raspberries organically and sold them at the University District Farmers Market for over ten years. We even got a shout out for our tasty raspberry vinegar from local author Debra Daniels-Zeller in the first edition of her popular book Local Vegetarian Cooking, Inspired Recipes Celebrating Northwest Farms.
When our neighbors of 40 years decided to move they asked us if we’d be interested in buying their adjoining acreage and in 2008 Goebel Hill Farm grew into 19 acres including a 1924 barn and small cottage.
Since then, we have planted thousands of Christmas trees and sorted through tons of weird, vintage items left by previous families including a set of false teeth and the insides of a baby grand piano! Everyday we learn something new as we work to restore the historic barn and farmland.
But enough about us—let’s talk about you. We want to share Goebel Hill Farm with you.
